Maria throws down in that kitchen. I had the philly steak and it was delicious. Chopped pickles, onions, tomatoes and seasoned perfectly. Worth the wait.

This has always been one of my family's go to's for delicious sandwiches, and even one of my grandparent's favorites when they lived in Los Angeles. Their food is always fresh and has great flavor for a good price! The location is on a busy street and pretty small so it is easy to miss. The place is pretty tiny with not too many tables for dining eat but I usually get take out. Our go to is the Italian cold cut on a French roll, which usually includes a tomato, pickle, onion slaw which I'm not a fan of because of the onions and pickles but my family loves it.
Good sandwiches and good people! -

For a place that's easy to miss while driving on Sepulveda (behind the Del Taco), Matt & Tony's gets pretty busy. I just stopped by to pick up a couple of sandwiches.
FOOD:
x2 Cheesesteaks (x1 hard roll and x1 soft roll): Hefty! It's a good sized and filling sandwich with plenty of meat, but the flavor was just okay; it was nothing special. The biggest complaint we had was the excessive amount of onions. Not only was the meat cooked with chopped onions, they added raw onions and pickles on top as well. As for the bread, both the hard roll and soft roll were equally soft.
Perhaps they could mix things up by adding sliced bell peppers, or maybe offer add-ons (i.e., mushrooms, a hoagie option, extra cheese).
I was a bit hesitant to try the Italian sandwiches for various reasons, but if other customers say the quality of the cold cuts are good, then I might try one another time. -

Checked the hours online. Said they were open. Made the mission to Matt and Tony's and they were actually closed! Was going to order for the whole family too. What a shame. Disappointed. Hours need to be changed online.

I had the turkey and cheese Sammy with errthing. The bread was a little old and stiff but the quality and taste was good. I'd come here again. BTW the Dr. Pepper button is out of order.
